From what I read, there are major problems with building batteries - they seem wasteful wrt materials. Our grid and electricity production are inadequate.

I’m far from sure that the big push for EV’s will work out. Personally, I think hybrids are a lot more interesting. They benefit from the best of both worlds. EVs with a generator onboard. Much smaller and cheaper batteries. Wonderful mileage.
