Brazilian President Lula: "Zelenskyy is just as responsible for the war as Putin"

The new Brazilian president, who has previously been able to count on the support of the US Democrats, is now surprisingly shooting at Joe Biden. This could have prevented the war. In addition, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensykj is just as responsible for the war as Kremlin boss Put

In an interview with "Time" magazine, the newly elected President of Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (77), found very clear words about the conflict in Ukraine. It is questionable whether, despite these statements, he can still count on a good relationship with American regent Joe Biden.

Elmat: Those Progressists that supported Lula do not know him...

"This guy is just as responsible for the war as Putin"

Lula sharply criticized the Ukrainian president. “Sometimes I sit and watch the President of Ukraine speak on TV, be applauded and get a standing ovation from MEPs. This guy is just as responsible for the war as Putin. Because in war there is not just one culprit. We politicians reap what we sow. If I sow brotherhood, solidarity, harmony, I will reap good. If I sow discord, I reap strife. Putin should not have invaded Ukraine. But not only Putin is guilty.”

According to Lula, the USA in particular, but also the EU, have really sparked the conflict. “The US and the EU are also guilty. What was the reason for the invasion of Ukraine? NATO? Then the US and Europe should have said: Ukraine will not join NATO. That would have solved the problem."

Biden should have flown to Moscow

In an interview with the magazine in May, Lula sharply criticized the behavior of the USA and the EU in the wake of the Ukraine conflict. In his opinion, US President Joe Biden should have acted much more diplomatically.

“I don't think he made the right decision in the war between Russia and Ukraine. The US has a lot of political influence. And Biden could have avoided war instead of incited it. He could have talked more, participated more. Biden could have taken a plane to Moscow to speak with Putin. That's the kind of attitude you want in a leader. Intervene so that nothing gets out of hand. I don't think he did that."
