There is a wild card in that a couple of groups are using semi-insulating substrates which RF uses for optical devices intended for power applications. Very high voltage power grid applications and they have gotten some impressive efficiencies.

Company is named Opcondys. It was developed by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. This link has a basic description and table at end comparing it to Wolfspeed.
