I watched something similar for RPM with asbestos liability suits. For many years the stock languished with spikes every time hopes it was over arrived with some settlement. As the years went by, suits became just ridiculous as lawyers advertised their ability to win for people who might of might not have a real complaint. I always felt RPM acted responsibly but at some point had to stop the payouts. As I understand it (and it may be apocryphal) they eventually funded a large terminal fund and spun it out with a division they had low hopes for (perhaps the dryvit company which they'd acquired for their asbestos derived product) and all suits went to that company allowing RPM to resume it's growth strategy unhampered.

But I warn you that my understanding would be modified a lot by anyone who had really studied the situation and final outcome. Plus I have no real understanding of where TEVA et al are relative to settling all initial complaints--many of which are legitimate.
