Lincoln CA is already very red... my aunt (retired Catholic school teacher) and uncle (SF Tenderloin resident hotel owner with his father) retired there after being born in SF. They lived on the Peninsula (Pacifica, similar low income city as Daly City where I grew up) and moved to a retirement community in Lincoln. They are in their 80s now.

Dana Gianassi, 68 years old, of Lincoln, Calif., said she has already voted for a straight Republican ticket. A registered independent, she leans Republican, but said she has never before voted straight GOP. “Right now I feel the Democrats are ruining our country,” she said, citing her concerns about securing the southern border and high prices.

“We’re on fixed incomes,” she said. “The gas is unbelievable.”

...

Overall, white suburban women trust Republicans more on crime and foreign policy. They said Democrats were better able to deal with lowering prescription drug prices. The parties were closely tied on which is best at handling the issues of abortion and education....

Ms. Gianassi, the California voter, said she has concerns about crime. “We don’t go out at night any more because of it,” she said. “We don’t go to Sacramento after dark. It has affected our lives.”
A 68 year old is probably more worried about crime and inflation than getting an abortion... unless she has grand daughters... or kids with families already struggling who might want to abort a fetus that will never be able to care for itself as an adult and take most family resources to care for at the expense of healthy children already alive and viable outside the womb.

Education and Abortion are split issues. Moderates support choice and are not happy with having to memorize preferred pronouns for everyone they know or interact with.

I would have been scared and upset to be forced to listen to "regular" red-nosed clowns with white makeup read to me in grade school... much less one dressed up in wild women's clothing.

We don't care who someone loves as long as they don't run around making a big stink out of it be it teenagers dry humping in public or adults necking in public to make a spectacle.

A good friend's son, who is a father and minister in one of the fire ravaged cities in the red right hand side of CA, is a "single issue voter" where he supports anyone who wants to ban abortion... much to the dismay of his more liberal father (who is only now coming to grips of high taxes he has to pay for Medicare plus State and Federal taxes on RMDs ) for making too much money following my newsletter in his IRA.

We REALLY need some moderates to prevent civil war...
