Bank of England warns "longest recession in 100 years" as it raises rates

At its meeting in August, the Bank had predicted the U.K. was facing its longest recession since the global financial crisis, lasting five quarters to the end of 2023.

They appear to be expecting something like the 30s and the 70s where the economy is alternating between shorter periods of recession and expansion as the cb fights inflation.
