A bruising primary battle for the Reps in 2024 will be terrible for the party, similar to how the Ronald Reagan / Gerald Ford primary and convention battle bruised Ford ahead of the general election that he narrowly lost. The Dems would be smart to run Gretchen Whitmer and forget about all the other wannabees. Don't expect either party to do the smart thing, however.
