Wierd. Just start with logic. Ad revenue rules radio stations, TV stations, web pages, etc. This medium is not paid for directly by subscribers like cable is (i.e., no fees to receive the signal). Syndicators have contracts with stations et. al. Profit and competition is very much alive and bloody in the communications business. The alternative is to have National Public Radio fund it. There are some good programs on NPR. But, would BB take a cut in pay to his show there? Ask him.

Similarly, would KGO take less revenue with fewer ads? Take it up with Mickey Luckoff or ABC. I already know the results of that suggestion.

Somehow I feel we have gone back to Econ 101.
