If I wanted to 'fix' (assuming that a 'total rewrite' was not possible) W95 (W98) to perform the way that 'it should', what would be the first on the 'hit' list?

I'm not much for Windows knowledge, but IMO, one of the things I'd fix first is the windowing system. I don't care what it looks like (well, I do, but that's not the point), but I care how it works. Having a network transparent windowing system would be a major improvement in Windows. Implementing something like a general protocol, to be separated from a window manager type thing, would also be a step in the right direction. Then again, what I'm describing is X ;)
