Once this election is over and the Republicans do a post-mortem, I think they'll discover that the Democrats have mastered the art of the election month. 2020 wasn't an aberration due to fraud after all. They were able to get their people to the polls again, albeit by mail, and we dropped the ball.
Their machine is well organized. For weeks prior to the election my brother, a Democrat, has received frequent phone calls and texts to mail in their ballot. He even had a few door knocks. Republicans push for election day voting, but when you can't get there in time or the lines are long, people give up. In the case of my state, it took roughly 15-20 minutes to fill out a ballot because of judges and it was hard to try voting during your lunch hour when the queue was 3 hours long. People just give up and hope for the best.
Republicans will need to stop pushing election day voting and embrace mail, regardless of your personal feelings. As all of you saw in Arizona, games can be played at the precincts, but the adjudication process is bipartisan now in a lot of states and that's where a lot of fraud tends to happen. If we don't figure out a way to beat the Democrats at their own game, especially in states where reforming mail in voting isn't an option, we're going to see elections like 2020 and 2022 become the norm, especially with changing demographics and cultural norms. |
