I wouldn't doubt others donated their talents to the series just out of their own faith if they were Catholic or even from other denominations. Efrem Zimbalist Jr. was a devout Episcopalian. Still, Fr. Kieser appeared to be an imposing individual who could get things done. It was the longest-running series of its kind in TV history.
