My take: I'd say lack of this feature is somewhere between a minor inconvenience to a show stopper, depending on the customer's network. DHCP is supported in Win95, so many organizations may have switched to this method of assigning IP addresses already, and may not switch to a network-center box that would require them to reconfigure all their PCs with static IP addresses. Others in the process of switching, or with no plans at all to switch would probably not let it affect their buying decision, at least if the feature is promised in future releases. I'd say the target 1200 customer is large enterprise, who is most likely to use DHCP.

I may be wrong, but since there are no WAN interfaces on the Accelar, a router is still required, in which case DHCP relay could be done there. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I think the real question is, if this feature is added (I believe the mktg literature says it will be), will it require an ASIC upgrade to the 1200?
