Why week 12? Nevada passed an abortion law up to 24 weeks, at the beginning stage where science says the brain begins to form, which distinguishes itself as human. Not that I agree with it. In fact, I don't. Any termination of a pregnancy is an act of disrespect toward G-d, insofar as the act of a specific sperm joining a specific egg is an act of G-d. Why even give the Federal government the authority to codify an abortion law one way or the other? Are they smarter than you or me or anyone else in this regard? I don't see a problem with putting the proposition up for election in each State.
