Today CBS has withdrawn from Twitter.

It would be interesting if Twitter turned into a space without journalists. I don't know if that is good or bad, but it would be interesting.

My guess is that within a reasonable period of time, nefarious bots will be eliminated. The solution, of course, is to make it harder to create those accounts in the first place.

This takeover has been ugly, but the people at Twitter had to go and Musk knew that going in. It was a corrupt environment with unacceptable behaviors just ingrown. Probably some good engineering talent in there, but IMO, Twitter long ago failed in the creativity department. I always thought the software UI was amateur hour to begin with, yet it never really improved. It just remained amateurish over time.

In fact, I'm not really sure what all these so-called "engineers" were doing with their time. It takes a lot of work to create a worldwide system that process 6,000 tweets/second, 24/7. But surely, some time could be spend on the user experience portion of the system.

I'm pretty sure Musk will address User Experience quickly once he gets the company stabilized.
