< WTF is going on in Alaska ? >

Democrat Peltola hired Republican Don Young’s Chief of Staff, as her own. Don Young was one of the most conservative Republicans in Washington.

Every speech, she says she will not be voting the Democratic Party line. She is strongly pro-development, and against Federal control of Alaska’s natural resources.

Even before they do the ranked choice, Peltola is at 48.7% of the vote, just shy of a majority. Palin would have to be getting every single Begich vote to win, which isn’t happening, because those 2 hate each other. But Palin and Peltola have been close friends for years.

So that’s what’s happening:
Democrats ran a moderate.
Republicans ran someone who hasn’t been in the State since 2008.
