No, I'm in southwest Missouri. It was in the teens this morning but no snow. I'm on the porch right now and they just came back so now I'm trapped and can't move. I could spit on their backs they're so close.

I cruised the property this morning looking for trespassers and one deer wouldn't get out of my way. I had to stop and yell shoo a few times before it walked to the side of the trail so I could get by. You can tell my wildlife is scared of me.

I had a big buck that used to come to my porch for food. He got too tame and wandered off the land though where someone probably got an easy tag fill.

We had a few bad turkey hatch years in a row where it was wet with late spring freezes. My numbers went down but I switched 3/4 of my fields to native warm season grasses and put in a pollinator field. I also have been killing raccoon and possum which eat a lot of turkey eggs so I'm glad to see these young turkey the last few days. This is just one gaggle of many so I should have plenty if I can get a few more years like this.
Once everything is going well, I plan on working on quail and pheasant next. Quail numbers are waaay down across the state. I only have a couple coveys here. I need to build some brush piles before I get serious in getting their numbers up though. I have too many owls and hawks so I need to make places for them to hide.
