JK's comment about a new class of institutional investors is analogous to something I have been pondering.

Veloso has done a decent job, albeit with some major missteps along the way, of getting Verde to where it is today, but is he still the right man now that the nature of the company is changing. It takes a different set of skills to manage an established company as compared to building a new company.
