TJ, very interesting only wonder how Cohen (a very common name*) got along with Borodin - same ethnicity opposite ideology.

The name Cohen is derived from the high priests of the Jewish Temple during antiquity build supposedly by King Solomon with an altar for offerings. One of the basic rules was that as a worshipper you must bring your offerings on your shoulders not on a donkey and even forbidden to buy it in front of the Temple. The temple was managed by "Cohanim" and form there the name Cohen
Fact is rich people refused to do so and in the Temple court where the money changers and at the time bankers, so rich men could buy a BIG offering as a show off.

Joshua or now known as Jesus Christ revolted against this practice as it did not follow the scripture and gave an unfair advantage to the rich. He turned the tables of the bankers within the Temple yard which drew the ire of the bankers as the mob indulged itself with their money.

Joshua was found not guilty by the Sanhedrin of 72 judges (rabbis) and let go but the bankers wanted his blood and demanded from Pontus Pilatus not to crucify a criminal but Joshua that was force to carry his crucifiction cross and made fun by the Romans as the pretender of the King of the Jews (on a Prague bridge there is his statue as crucified with written in latin Jesus King of the Jews)

The bridge is 1689 ft (515 m) long and 32 ft (10 meters) wide, and used to have four lanes for horse-drawn carriages. Nowadays, it is only accessible to pedestrians.

Charles Bridge is named after the Czech King and Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV, who commissioned its construction in 1357 to replace its predecessor, Judith Bridge, which collapsed in a flood in 1342.

The Statues of Charles Bridge Along the Charles Bridge in Prague you'll find 30 statues on both sides of the bridge, many of which are copies as the originals are in the National Museum in Prague and in Vyšehrad and were built at the beginning of the 18th century.

The first statue added in 1683 was of the saint of Bohemia, John of Nepomuk. Jan Nepomucký, in Czech, was thrown into the river in 1393 by orders of the King Wenceslas IV and was canonized in 1729.
