China is building the infrastructure for a global empire to rival the British Empire at its height.

Colonialism begins with trade and diplomacy.

Then, bit by bit, eroding the sovereignty of other nations. Extraterritoriality for the Empire’s people. Unequal trade treaties. Buying foreign leaders. Silencing dissent globally. Murdering those who will not be silent. Direct military conquest is expensive and dangerous; always an option, but not the preferred method.

Only at the end of the process, is the conquered nation formally absorbed into the empire.

Latin America, most of Africa, parts of Asia, even some of Europe, are already far down this slippery slope.

And the USA is doing nothing effective to stop it.
