Yeah, keeping the old “dumb” Sony large screen TV has always been my plan. I have never bought used electronics.

It does have 2 HDMI ports, both of which are being used: One for DirecTV connection (which I plan to keep) and the other for the DVD/Blu-Ray player.

I made a decision and ordered my equipment 2 days ago. First I’ll need an HDMI switch to add more HDMI ports. I got an HDMI Switch, 4 in, 1 Out, with IR Remote Control which will allow me to switch between 4 HDMI devices on one of the TV ports (will cover future expansion if ever needed). Second, I ordered the basic Fire TV Stick Lite for streaming.

With the Black Friday deals I got it all for under $60 delivered. Should get them within a week and hopefully be straightforward to set up.
