Satchmo, The first packet that leaves a device (say a PC) that is looking for a DHCP server to give it an IP address is a non-routable IP packet (a BOOTP packet). If the DHCP server is on the other side of an IP router or Layer 3 IP switch then that device must support a "relay agent" to get that packet across to the other side (remember this packet can't be routed and since it is an "IP" packet it can't be bridged by a device that is routing IP on that interface). Accelar software agent 1.1 supports DHCP/BootP relay and does not require a re-spin of the ASIC. 1.1 should be shipping in a month or so.
