Controversial Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz slams her OWN paper for opposing Chinese COVID lockdowns - and claims the US is killing off 'millions of vulnerable people' by not locking down
  • Washington Post journalist Taylor Lorenz has criticized her own newspaper's reporting of how China is dealing with the coronavirus
  • WaPo article described the country's lack of vaccination as a 'critical flaw' in its 'zero covid' strategy leaving the country without any 'natural immunity'
  • Lorenz tore apart the piece in a single tweet stating there was 'no lasting natural immunity' and implementing lockdowns to save lives was not a 'critical flaw'
  • Twitter users were appalled that Lorenz would defend the authoritarian country's lockdowns and implied human rights violations
  • One user accused her of 'spreading misinformation' but that Wapo editors were unlikely to sanction her because her controversy results in clicks for the website
  • There were few direct responses to Lorenz's original tweet because her Twitter settings do not allow for a right of reply unless followed by the reporter directly
  • She has been facing backlash online since she was preparing to publish a piece revealing the identity of the person behind the Libs of TikTok Twitter account
  • Conservatives at the time had accused her of 'doxxing'
