Street Walker,

I have only checked out the Appian Jeronimo series in any detail. From what I have been able to find, it is the only one that has a driver that can be configured to intercept dialog boxes that default to the middle of the screen and place them in the middle of the monitor that holds the parent window.

Other "multi-monitor" systems end up with an unreadable dialog box split across 2 or 4 displays. Yuck.

Anyway, suggested retail from Appian is:

J2 (drives 2 displays) with 2Mb per channel is $690, 4Mb is $840
J3 (drives 4 displays) with 2Mb per channel is $1140, 4Mb is $1290

I do not know what the street prices are for them because they gave me the names of 2 local "distributors". When I called, neither carries any Appian products!!!!

Also, on the WEB page, it indicates the J3 can be bought configured for 2 displays and upgraded to 3 or 4. The sales people stated this configuration is planned, but not currently supported. If you want 2 now and 4 later, you get a J2 and must swap to the J3 when you upgrade. No info was given on procedure or price for upgrade. ie: must you send in the old first and go without a computer until the new one arrives?

Enjoy the ride,

Ira
