Hospital is where a patient goes for one ailment, ends up with something else and often times the doctors can't even diagnose the problem and the patient ends up being tagged with "sepsis" What is Sepsis ? Anyone can get an infection, and almost any infection, including COVID-19, can lead to sepsis. In a typical year: - At least 1.7 million adults in America develop sepsis. - At least 350,000 adults who develop sepsis die during their hospitalization or are discharged to hospice. - 1 in 3 people who dies in a hospital had sepsis during that hospitalization - Sepsis, or the infection causing sepsis, starts before a patient goes to the hospital in nearly 87% of cases. cdc.gov There is no cure or a definitive treatment for Sepsis.. However, one canadian company has narrow it down to one type of Sepsis and currently are in Phase III Trial to diagnose and provide treatment to improve the mortality rate.. I should also add no other drug company is doing any study or trial at this point.. Disclaimer..
