I may be completely wrong about this but I do think that bitcoin has some significant utility. I allows people to keep their assets away from government control and allows easy wealth transfers as long as you keep it from getting stolen from you. the only question is acceptability and that seems to have grown exponentially in the past few years. Since I never know what something is worth like bitcoin I think it makes sense to have a very small portfolio allocation and just average into it. My gut tells me that there will be a lot of crypto currencies that will fall by the wayside but that bitcoin will be a survivor. Some countries have egregious inheritance taxes
My uncle passed away in Belgium. He had no direct descendants and everything that was left to his nephews and nieces was taxed at 90%, including his residence.
