Not only did they discuss it in detail but they mentioned at least two projects where they are already doing it.
I think they are really wedded to the concept of their class a malls having a community like structure. one of their malls contains a childrens museum and many are containing gyms , Target stores, bookstores and medical offices,.
they also mentioned that the 76ers are building a new stadium near one of their malls and they are already getting calls from interested renters.

Almost my entire portfolio went green today except for Macerich. FWIW I made a new spec investment purchased SI- Silvergate, a bank which has come under lots of recent scrutiny. Caveat Emptor but it looks super cheap at these levels.
