We had something weird happen today. A current software vendor is up for renewal. I think they may be a unicorn who has yet to go public. Anyway, they were really reluctant to drop their price, which was 45% more than it was 3-years ago when it we signed the last license. They dropped it about 5%. We were unimpressed, and then they offered us 3-months free! I think we're going to get 6-months free plus 1-year delayed payment on 60% of the license. It will end up about a 4% annual increase over 6-years (3-since the last license, and 3-more years). I think they are trying to protect their reported margins through some non-GAAP accounting via the free months of the license.
