The nature of most of these derivatives are hedges on hedges. Many different counter-parties playing gambling games to "reduce risk" but without any serious oversight. I'm not subscribing to the doom and gloom portrayed in the article but there are many risks out in the world that are either being hidden or, more often, quietly being dismantled.

With the change in rates over the past year, my main questions are how many lingering issues are still in the hidden mode vs. how many are in the the quietly being dismantled mode. Consequences can cascade vs. sending ripples through the markets.

I don't lose any sleep over this but, similar to FTX, there are plenty of hidden bombs waiting to go off. Understanding these are out there, helps with being sure to never get overly leveraged. The rewards can look appealing but... is one prepared for the black swan or "game changer" event, should that come to pass?

FWIW - I scalped SQQQ a half hour into today's session and was out within 20 minutes. Worked out for a nice 3.6% gain. Too many plates spinning on poles that need to be watched lately, or I would have posted during the trade.
