Fuchi Wu - Your friend Tom Uberclockermeister has a couple 100 MHz
Motherboards for testing - a Pentium II/440BX and a Socket 7 - guess which
one works?

And guess what - the 440 BX dissipates 33 1/3 watts and needs a built in
refrigerator to keep it cool! No Joke!

400 MHz CPU speed and 100 MHz system clock - almost as fast as the
MediaGX!

This board is FOR YOU FUCHI - you can overclock it till the cows come home! Think of the keyboard response you can get!

Right now I am running benchmarks on a BX chipset board. Wow, a BX
chipset board !!! Well, it runs wonderfully at 300/100, 350/100 and
400/100, the only problem was getting some SDRAM that talks to it at
this speed. Unfortunately I can run the tests with only 32 MB, because I
can only use one DIMM slot and I couldn't find any SDRAM 64 MB
DIMM that would run reliably at 100 MHz. Anyway, I'll tell you latest by
tomorrow how much difference 100 mHz bus speed really make. Let me
know if there's any particular benchmark you would like me to run.

I've also got a cool Socket 7 CPU here that's talking 100 MHz, but the
new board that's here for running this CPU doesn't like me or at least it
doesn't like any of my SDRAM types (and believe me, I've got quite a
few). I don't want to tell any names for obvious reasons. As soon as I've
got a decent Socket 7 AGP board that does 100 MHz bus speed
reliably (and this means e.g. not running Winstone only half, in case that
sounds familiar to you), I will post the results ASAP.

Paul
