A private company can ban anyone they want - but if they do it at the behest of outside political forces, that’s a big potential problem - for the perpetrators.
CBS Sunday Morning did a bit of gaslighting this morning.

Had a segment on Twitter and Elon. They repeated the trope that a private business can prohibit whatever it wants on its site. Totally disregarded that govt actors met with the Twitter censors and urged them to suppress certain content. That is definitely a first amendment violation. Also had a guy on who insisted that suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story did not affect the outcome of the election. Lie. It’s been reported that appx 17% of Biden voters have said the story would have affected their vote.

MSM is doing its best to downplay this story in hopes it goes down the memory hole.
