Because that's private information and protected by HIIPA laws, federally. Or is it HIPAA laws? I can never remember the acronym...

If the family chooses to release that information they will, but often it gets leaked by some greedy jerk trying to make a quick buck by selling the info to the tabloids. The "whisper slumber" reason, I guess one could call it.

That's most news organizations these days in our 24/7/365 news cycle. Three-hundred-sixty-six days in Leap Years! Lol.

Gotta be first to the web to get the eyeballs and clicks to sell ads and subscriptions these days though, right?

That used to be called "yellow journalism" back in the day when reputable news organizations spent time to fact check stories before publishing them in the newspaper or running it on the nightly news.

Nowadays it's more like Bright Lights, Big City, a good 80's movie starring Michael J. Fox and Kiefer Sutherland. Fox's character decided to party the night away with Sutherland's character is a sort of dueling debauchery rather than meet writing deadlines to get his stories properly vetted.

Oh well, I liked the film anyway, and its soundtrack too, but most didn't. The reviews really stunk it up. Whole lotta "unwoke" love in that film to be sure!

The book was written by Jay McInerney, and he wrote the screenplay as well.

Wonder what he's up to these days, he still alive?

Also, mind if I call you Dollar Bill from now on? I like nicknames if people accept them, but it'd be mean to do that without asking for permission. I'd have mad respect for you if you do though, truly!
