Chrome 108.0.5359.94: emergency security patch

Chrome 108.0.5359.94 patches yet another critical security flaw in Google’s web browser with an active exploit in the wild, following other recent critical Chrome patches.
Google Chrome emergency update fixes 9th zero-day of the year

Google has released Chrome 108.0.5359.94/.95 for Windows, Mac, and Linux users to address a single high-severity security flaw, the ninth Chrome zero-day exploited in the wild patched since the start of the year. “Google is aware of reports that an exploit for CVE-2022-4262 exists in the wild,” the search giant said in a security advisory published on Friday.

Other Chromium-based browsers, which include Brave, Opera, Microsoft Edge, and Chromium itself, also will need updates.

Chromium, the open-source web browser project on which Google Chrome and other browsers are built, available for Linux, macOS, iOS, and Windows, doesn’t include Google’s proprietary alterations, such as Google’s tracking mechanisms.
