The real complication in the market is that not only different people disagree on the facts (e.g. what next quarter's earnings or GDB numbers will be), but that even when they agree on the facts they come to different conclusions on what to do about them. When I started out investing, I was very much a macro and fundamentals guy. That foundation has been of value. But I realized that I should put more weight on the technicals than on the fundamentals. This doesn't mean that I ignore the fundamentals or the macro picture, but as I see it, if investing was artistic painting, then macro is the canvas and the medium, fundamentals are the picture, and TA is the brush strokes and the style. All 3 are important, but I like to stay closer to the brush strokes ;)
