Evening OT: I would like to have a basket of travel stocks, but there's either no value stocks that I see there, or if they're there, I can't discern them (e.g. airlines)
I notice that ABNB is down, helped by an analyst's negative call. That's apparently impacted BKNG, which is down today too.
I like BKNG for its size and scope. finance.yahoo.com. I'll go for a few shares here, and I'll also take only a play-money few shares of ABNB. finance.yahoo.com If I don't get scared out or otherwise give up, I may have to hold BKNG through the recession that pundits are talking about, so I'll plan for a five year holding. Meanwhile, as reported by some here, airlines seem full now when they travel.
Recalling some posts, Travel Centers of America was discussed. Somebody (scbeachbum?) did very well with it. I didn't like management and passed (my error). I see now that the stock price is still up, but profits have been good, and some of the metrics I like look ok to me. I'll go for a few shares here. finance.yahoo.com
Other:
I like Fleetcor for its business with truckers who travel. If stock will come down a bit, I'll take more shares. finance.yahoo.com
I'm still holding my few shares of ERJ, fwiw. (losing position, may sell) finance.yahoo.com
I hold SAVE (Spirit Airlines) for the presumed takeover. I like (I hold) a few ALGT because of its good history and emphasis on leisure travel and communities not much served by other airlines.
I have CAR (Avis) on my watch list. I like the low p/e, good profit margins, but I worry about business going forward - effect of Uber, lower used car prices, a business I don't understand, etc.
I've Delta Air (DAL) on my watchlist.
Have no hotels on my list. |
