I knew someone would contend my assertion. However note I said: I don't think there are many companies that would WANT to partner with Apple... That means they are reluctant, it doesn't mean they won't do it if they can't develop their own software. There's a pretty good chance they'll screw it up. Even companies like Apple undervalue usabilty. Auto companies are clueless on that one. The coding isn't a problem, it's the usabilty. Pretty much like all software producers they just don't get that part. I find it bizarre, it's not that expensive to hire usabilty people. On self driving it might be the coding but there are a LOT of companies working on it, and a lot of lawyers saying "Not yet." No doubt a lot of tech and auto companies would like to recruit the leaders. Self driving, when it gets here is a no brainer when it comes to managerial productivity. My clients would love to get stuff done while their cars are driving them all over these traffic jammed freeways. Watched a TV segment on Rivan, which is supplying Amazon delivery vehicles. The drivers love them. They also interviewed a long time mac truck hauler using an electric. He loved his too. Those companies might beat everyone to the punch.
