Somewhere along the way, in the recent decades, we’ve come to a point when there was no downside for any politician for starting any unnecessary wars. We bomb the crap out of Serbia, we bring democracy to Iraq, we demolish Libya… we arm and support “good” terrorists against the “bad” elected government of Syria. Oh yea, almost forgot the 20 years of nation building in Afghanistan.

Some of the explanations for those wars are amazing - I meant, amusing. The HRC/Obama “limited military operation” against Libya was meant to protect “rebels” from a backlash from the Kaddafi government. OK, by the time a mob was done with Kaddafi, that was no longer a concern.

Until if we start holding our rulers accountable for wasteful unnecessary wars - this won’t end.

Now, we’re at risk of getting into a nuclear war - so that Ukraine could join NATO.
