If you started with 40 instead of 30, your new pile would be 40, and so forth. Simple and elegant logic, yet not intuitive... which is what I consider the true secret behind all sorts of things-- from food recipes to magic tricks.

Logic aka connecting the dots is what makes jokes funny as well!
