My guess is that 95% of the information appearing in the media about the Ukraine war is disinformation put out by one bloc or the other. In order to separate the wheat from the chaff, you have to sift through everything that appears, and try to figure out which side is grinding what axe with any particular news item.
This is a good description of reading between lines.

Very sad, but it has come to this. Not only about Ukraine.
