I know the area. Spent a little time in Guanacevi, Inde, and Santa Maria del Oro as a kid. Fly specks on the map of the state of Durango. It was the back of beyond then, and I doubt that much has changed. The terrain is unbelievable. Oh, yes. The narco bad boys are there now. Looks like Santa Maria del Oro has grown since I was there.
