I'd suggest doing 1/2 the $4K as that will postpone the "next Sell" trade. If the $4K represents 10% of the current stock value, it will raise the "next Trade" targets (both the buy and sell sides) by roughly 5% above their current levels. If the $4K is 5% of stock value, the rise to the next trade targets is roughly 2.5%.

In either case, you'll accomplish the desired Sell delay and your upper cash target will remain nearby. I find during long bullish periods a pattern of "Sell", 'vealie', "Sell" seems to occur. Sometimes there will be two vealies in between the sales. That usually will keep the cash reserve percentage + or - a small amount of your objective.
