Too bad about the knee Bernie.
I got a hitch in one of mine last year at end of ski season. Xray showed arthritis of course. PT guy mused about meniscus tear. Did some exercises, golfed/walked a ton. Its manageable.
I'm closing in on 200km on skinny skis. If snow conditions aren't good I'm avoiding the steeps. Got a set with fish scales and metal edges I use when it ices up.
Had one day up at Sunshine last week. Cold and windy and snowy. Perfect. Found a little powder stash we hit until the boarders showed up. We had to check faces for frostbite continually.
Like I say the knee is manageable. I hope yours is too. It will take your mind off your toe perhaps.
