Larry, wow! The "Kurlak Effect" hits a prime time news outlet.

I think Scott Randal (who from what I've read here and there seems to be a good guy) put it best:

"I'm always trying to downplay the 'Kurlak effect,' but unfortunately I kind of agree with him at the moment."

That's pretty much where I'm at, although I'd argue that if your time horizons are VERY short, it's important to be cognizant of "the Kurlak effect".

For example, more than a few folks were probably thinking "okay, the thing's down on a Kurlaking; they present at Goldman; not a slam-dunker, but my guess is that they'll be some recovery based on conf.-related expectations..." and they ended up ahead at the end of the day. Who knows how strong the carry through will be?

But if what SR is saying is that it's ludicrous that one individual has in the past received such Pavlovian responses from the markets (at times, far in excess of actual insights) then I agree.
