I don't think Powell cares about the budget. They can rip it back down to zero and start QT again. He's really stuck on that 2% inflation.

There is a reason he wants that figure. Particularly wage inflation the FED doesn't like because it effectively forgives long term debt. Only way to stop it is to crush the economy.

So I'm a little cynical. <G>
