It is pretty ambiguous. My mom's parents grew up in a region in Finland where the population speaks Swedish as their first language. In ethnicity does language trump address? I would probably say yes. For reasons nobody understands today in the old-time immigrant logic Swedes were held in higher regard than Finns. So it is understandable that my mom would very slightly exaggerate her Swedishness.

Then Ancestry dot com comes along and calls her a big fat liar. I should tell those bullies to go away and leave my mom alone! But I kinda like the Finns. So lately I've been accepting their Half Finn award. Mom will understand when I see her in a bit.
