Sigh - I guess Michelle Star is yet another scientifically illiterate science writer.

Or one who doesn't proof what they write.

(While such a reaction is possible it is low probability and would require an impractical amount of energy to occur especially in a fusion reactor - which is why the usual reaction they aim for is deuterium and tritium)
