Stoltenberg said NATO expansion would not be hindered.

“President Putin cannot deny sovereign nations to make their own sovereign decisions that are not a threat to Russia,” the former Norwegian prime minister said.

I’m sorry, but Yens Stoltenberg is not the smartest politician in the world. Far from it. Ukr NATO membership certainly IS a great threat to Russia - according to Russia. But Russia's view, obviously, is [still] not relevant.

Current tragic events show absence of any understanding between the 2 sides. We are seeing a brutal war - threatening escalation into WWIII - even without UKR being in NATO. Protected by NATO membership, the Azovians would be even more assertive. They would say - “Russia cannot order us in which part of a NATO country rockets can be placed - and in which direction they can be pointed”.

Ukraine NATO membership would create a situation when a direct war between Russia and NATO would be approaching 100% probability. Question - is this what any SANE person would want?
