Same Old, Same Old

Again, this week the commercials increased their net short positions in both gold and silver.

Ed Steer's comments:

"So -- and to quote Led Zeppelin..."as we wind on down the road" towards the end of this price management scheme, this "sea change" is yet another of the already many silver straws in the wind that indicates some sort of denouement is in our future as far as the prices of the precious metals are concerned... along with a lot of other commodities as well."

The "sea change" refers to a change in the positions in the December Bank Participation report. There are 2 or 3 new players shorting the precious metals and they are non-bank commercial shorts. Ted Butler has referred to this as a "sea change".
