The tired old Beta vs. VHS when comparing IOM and SYQT is wrongly associating two things which have nothing in common. Consumer Beta's main demise was lack of "software" distribution. Most Movies were distributed on VHS, since the liscensing of Beta's titles had to go through Sony first. CD-Rom is the main source of software distribution among computers today. Zip will never be. Way too expensive.

Looks like the LS-120 is creeping up on Iomega. There have been reports of Superdisc sales anywhere from 1 1/2 to 3 million units sold. And this with little marketing. Iomega is going to get its ass kicked in the laptop department when laptop LS-120 comes out, especially since laptop Zips cost $300. One space that handles both floppies and Ls-120 discs will be a boon to the computer geek on the go.
