Der Barcelona Krimi

I watched the first seven TV movies making up another krimi, this one made in Barcelona. The first test of these shows is always whether you can manage to forget the characters are speaking German in a place where no one actually speaks German, and this one passed that test most of the time.

I picked this series because I was missing Barcelona, and for the first few episodes we get plenty of the scenery you might expect, though that drops off as the series progresses, as we explore Barcelona's bad side as well as generic looking offices.

The movies were also a bit action-y for me, with too many chase scenes. Chases scenes are like drum solos; once you have seen a few of them they have to be really exceptional to merit one's attention. These ones didn't. Still, the writing and acting are pretty good, so if you come across it, you might find it worth your while, particularly if you are pining for Barcelona.
