Rat,
I survived the 1989 Loma Prieta quake that impacted the Bay area. But I must admit that I happened to be in San Diego sitting in a bar waiting for the World Series game to start. But my wife and daughter in Santa Rosa felt the full force of the quake.
The next morning I flew through SFO enroute to Boise on a business trip. While changing planes I walked through the main terminal and they already had T- shirts saying—“I survived a 6.9 earthquake.” Needless to say—I bought the wife and daughter one of them and then it dawned on me it would look bad if we were in a public place and they had on their shirts and I didn’t—so I bought myself one. Did that make me a lesser man? Brave and protective of my family!
